There can be many reasons for stress, anxieties and fears. Through the many counseling sessions I have given over the years, I have come to believe that the fear of being insignificant is one of the biggest reasons.
The dictionary’s definition of insignificance is “not big or valuable enough to be considered important”.
The feeling of being important is so strong in most of us that it shows up in almost every Akashic Record reading I give. There is the direct approach when someone asks about their Life Purpose or a more hidden one when someone expresses the fear of being alone, poor, unsuccessful, depressed or experiences low self-esteem.
The unconscious person spends their whole life trying to do something to prove his/her significance to the world. We work hard in school and college to get good grades so we can get the jobs that offer the most money to us. We sacrifice our family live in order to work extra hours for that promotion so that we can “be someone” in the company. We give up our own needs and wants to fulfill the needs and wants of others so that we can “be the person” the world wants us to be. We spend so much time doing things to receive approval and importance that we never actually get to BE ourselves.
The truth is that we will never be able to get everyone’s approval, nor should we. It’s great that we live in a world with so many differences, likes and dislikes, because it gives us the opportunity to become ourselves and to choose that which is truly right for us. In order to get there you will have to let go of all the external accomplishments and start practicing self-love and self-acceptance. Start a quest to really get to know yourself. Find out what’s really important to you. What can you live without and what would you like to add to your life. And please, be aware that many rules we still live by today come from things and behaviors we observed during our childhood.
When we start investing time and thought into our world-views and self understanding we will quickly realize that we are of great significance to ourselves as well as to the greater good. We are so important, that’s why we are here now.
With much Love and Caring,
Gabrielle Orr
